With the beautiful weather we’re currently having there will be a lot of things on your mind, from where you packed the tent away last year to which festivals you want to go to, but looking after your eyes might not be one of them. Here are some things to keep in mind to make sure eye problems don’t get in the way of you enjoying your summer!

Protect Against UV Rays

Harmful UV rays can cause a whole host of eye problems. In the short-term glaring sunshine could lead to temporary snow-blindness (caused by any intense period of UV rays, not just in snow!), and in the long-term, cancer, cataracts and other serious eye problems. Our prescription sunglass lenses keep out 100% of harmful UV rays. You’re bound to find a pair that will complete your summery look as well, as all of our designer frames are available with sunglass lenses.

Hay Fever

Hay fever can cause weepy and sore eyes. On days with high pollen count, wear spectacles rather than contacts and speak to your pharmacist to get medicated eye drops.

Water & Swimming

If you’re thinking of heading down to the pool or the sea to cool off, remember you can’t wear contacts in the water and consider buying some goggles to protect your eyes from chemicals or salt in the water.

Camping & Festivals

If you wear contacts, it’s easy for eyes to get infected when you’re camping. You could wear spectacles instead, or consider getting disposable lenses so you don’t have to worry about taking your solution and keeping them super-clean. Designate a safe place to keep your glasses in your tent, as it’s easy for them to get lost or broken!

We hope you have a lovely summer, don’t forget to order your prescription sunglasses! Check out our website for the latest spectacle and sunglasses designer frames.
